While Ghulie's away, Muz and Andy will play. [Oct. 19th, 2006|08:56 pm]
[mood |tiredKnackered]
[music |"Post Blue" -Placebo]

Becku, here is your bloody update.

So Toolie went to Holland, then he came back, then a week later he went again, then he came back for a weekend, then a week later he went again and at the same time Muslim went to Turkey, then they both came back on the same day, then last week Ghulie went back to Holland where he has been ever since.

Last night Muz reluctantly agreed to let his cousin's friend and his "mentor" drive 2 hours over from Southall so they could try and sell him on some shady pyramid scheme business. 2 hours later after listening to them talk, Muz says no...not that he was actually considering it. Although he came home so tired and ready to crash, the whole event amused him so much that he (with great animation) explained the whole meeting to me (I refused to be present) and told me that he could learn the presentation better in an hour and sell it to me...for sure...he could, ya know! Anyway, they left the flat at 10.30, we are laughing about it for an hour when Mr Smarty Pants decides it's shisha (hooka) time. We load it up, sit around in the dark listening to music, chatting and smoking cherry shisha. It burns out and we just sit there talking. It's 1:30 am now (when normal working people would call it a night because it was now actually Thursday morning) and what do we do? Load the shisha up for round 2....until 2.30 am.

Needless to say we both woke up early for work...shattered...yet we made plans to get some Waga's for dinner and come home and do it again. By the time we got back from dinner we were both dead, but not to worry a plan was made... I am going to bed now becausue I have no choice....tomorrow after one drink at a friend's leaving do we will come home and stay up even later playing with shisha...I worry about this, especially after the great "Prison Break" marathon debacle that was my May Bank Holiday weekend.

All this and I  just hope I am not too tired to celebrate Diwali on Saturday with Tesh....that wasn't a joke. Curry on Brick Lane.

P.S. I saw Idina Menzel in Wicked and Ashlee Simpson in Chicago...oh the joys of living in London.

It's September already? Finally an update! [Sep. 2nd, 2006|10:17 am]
[mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left you, without a dope beat to step to…

Ok, the biggest news comes first. About 2 weeks into our project for RBS we were told it was likely we were going to land the campaign because we were doing such a good job. By weeks 5 it was official and the project would continue business as usual until December 31st. Now came the time to decided if we were going to move on or stay within the team. I knew that regardless the situation I would stay for one extra week to help train new people, but I would be leaving the team for good. In fact, I interviewed for a different position within the company to be a Campaign Manager. Not knowing the outcome of that interview I helped interview replacement people for our team and then spent all of last week training 7 newbies. I also found out I got the job, a pay rise, and would be starting on September 4th!

My new job is still working strictly for RBS but on their grads campaign. I think my previous experience with the Group gave me inside knowledge that I used to my advantage in my interview. It’s an 8 month recruitment project that takes 15,000 applicants who just graduated university, and whittles it down to places them in about 60 jobs. I am overseeing the placement of the Human Resources and RBS Finance candidates! Big scary responsibility but I am looking forward to it.

On Aug 23rd I went to see New Found Glory. It was fabulous, a secret show for 150 people! They took to me nicely because I was the only on there with the same accent as them, Cyrus especially had quite a lot to say to me. I felt special!

And finally, I just spent the last 4 days in Vienna with Ronnie, Georgie and Mamama. I flew Swiss Air which I highly highly recommend and was spoiled to death by Mamama, which I am hardly complaining about. We packed a good deal of the city into 2 full days of sight seeing. It was tiring but lovely; even though it rained the whole time we were there pretty much. It was great to see the three of them, even if it was only for a few days. It was perfect timing for a vacation, the week after I am done my old job and the week before my new one starts. I have all weekend to recover and then Monday is the big day…and Tuesday is the big birthday!

Anyway, miss you all and will see you really soon!

Andu

[music |RBS Noises]

It’s been a while since the last major (non-picture) update, so I figured I should try and knock one out of the park. Where to begin… Have been in training for the new project at work for the Royal Bank of Scotland on and off for the last month and a half doing interview training, selection methods, system training, marking and such, because we interview RBS candidates and decide if they are good enough to progress their application. It’s been hectic, but a wicked learning experience. Because I had to commit to the full 6 week run of the project I was unable to go to Israel, which if you know me, didn’t exactly break my heart. The Geller’s and Steph came in for 2 days en route to the Mother Country last Monday, slept at a hotel and then in the morning brought their stuff over to my house as they were flying out of London City, and as you know, I live 5 minutes away. They also got to meet Ghulie, and he spent a nice afternoon with us at Jubilee Place in Canary Wharf.

This week has been momentous. RBS went live on Monday and it’s been a lot of revising, interviewing, organizing and frustration, but all in all it’s been a useful experience. As we approach the end of our first week, we are all eagerly anticipating the end of the next 5 weeks to see if our hard work pays off and if we will land the permanent campaign from RBS. That, and yesterday, after a 4 and a half week recovery period at home being grumpy, Ghuls finally returned to the wonderful world of PWC. Also, yesterday I booked a 4 day trip to Paris for Steph and I, Steve says he wants to come only to see me speak French because I won’t around him.

Oh, at work we all paid £4 to end a world cup pool where you pick potential winners and goal scorers and everything. Stacey, Bianca and I each entered one and decided we would win first second and third place. In the end Bianca won and I came in second, so that was a big score. B gets £42 and I get £21, and I chose all my answers all by myself….ok not really, Muz filled out my sheet and Ghuls filled out one for Stacey (she came in 6/18). This goes to show how football-insane Muz is, he wins second place in my pool out of 18 people and wins first place in his pool out of 10 people…oh Zidane.

What else, what else? Muz’s birthday is on the 19th, party on the 22nd, the family returns on the 26th, Steph moves in with me on the 31st, we go to Paris on the 3rd, and then she goes home for good on the 15th of August. Busy busy. That’s about all I can think of right now, nothing else of interest, well Michelle Mula stayed at my place last Saturday and I made myself a café mocha this morning. Other than that I’ve got nothing.

If you want to drop me an e-mail while I'm at work I'm Andrea.Fenyes@tmp.com

Picture Post for the masses! [May. 23rd, 2006|04:01 pm]
[mood |tiredtired]
[music |Home noises]

So I know that I have been lacking in the updates, but we only just got our internet set up a week ago. Mum has come and gone, she left yesterday and we made a trip to Budapest on her first weekend here…it was fabulous, thanks for asking. It’s nice to have some space back for a little while; I forgot what it felt like to sleep in my own bed. The guys are great, as usual, we are all just so happy with our house that no one is ever really in a mood while at home, so it’s been very peaceful, unless you count the screaming the boys do at the TV when watching football or playing one of the thousand gaming consoles they have. Muz has decided to be a Monk, so someone should tell him Monks don’t shout and scream. I don’t know if I mentioned that I have been asked to do an Extended Testing Project at work for a client I probably shouldn’t mention right now since it is a recruitment campaign that hasn’t gone live yet, so shhhhhhhh. I will be going to Manchester for training….I am sure I already mentioned this. I don’t honestly have much to say, so I will just leave you with pictures of my flat so you can see where I lay my head at night. Come to think of it, I should post pictures of the guys….ok that’s next entry.

Enjoy!
